A speeding violation has led to the arrest of a Houston, Texas man who has been on the run since December of 2012.

“On Monday evening, an officer was working a traffic detail when he stopped a vehicle for speeding. During the stop, the officer discovered that the driver was wanted from Texas for a December 2012 murder in the Houston area,” Chief K.P. Gibson, Crowley Police Department, said.

“Once the officer discovered that the driver was wanted for murder, he used good judgment, waited for back up and took the suspect into custody without incident,” Chief Gibson added.

Arrested on the Houston warrant for murder was Adrian Aguilar, 43, who at booking listed his address as Douglasville, Pennsylvania.

“Citizens often wonder why police officers are direct when speaking with people especially on traffic stops. This is a great point that you never know who you are dealing with,” stated Chief Gibson.
