HOUMA, LA (NBC33) — A 26-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly participated in a bar fight that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.
According to the Houma Police Department, the incident happened on Friday, Oct. 11 shortly after 1:00 a.m. When officers arrived to the Cajun Country Lounge, they learned that the fight involved several people, but no one wanted to speak to law enforcement.
One individual involved in the fight was described to have “substantial injuries,” but he refused medical treatment. Later that same night, however, he was rushed to the hospital and was placed on life support.
Investigators continued to piece together what happened with the limited information they were provided. They eventually identified Wayne Adams, 26, as the individual responsible for causing the injuries to the victim who was placed in critical condition.
“Investigators made contact with Mr. Adams and developed information that he beat the victim up as a result of a previous fight the victim had with Mr. Adams’ brother,” officials said in a press release.
Adams was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Battery. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Justice Complex.
