Lafayette Police Department, with the help of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Police Department, have identified a person of interest in relation to the multiple armed robberies that have happened recently within the city of Lafayette.

The Lafayette Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating Dylan Alfred, 40, believed to be homeless.

UL Lafayette Police have secured an arrest warrant for the arrest of Alfred for Attempted Simple Robbery. The warrant stems from an incident that occurred on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. A female was walking in a parking lot by Girard Park when she was approached by a black male suspect. The suspect demanded the victim's car keys, at which time she was able to activate a UL Code Blue Phone System. The suspect immediately fled the area on foot.

Lafayette Police responded to a similar incident a short time later where a vehicle was taken in the Ground Pati parking lot on Johnston Street.

Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department currently have an outstanding arrest warrant for the arrest of Dylan Alfred for an unrelated burglary charge, and have named him a person of interest relating to the recent armed burglaries within the area.
