Bail has been set for the man police believe to be responsible for at least one of this month’s home invasions and sexual assaults.

Vorris Mouton’s bond has been set at $40,000. $10,000 for one count of home invasion and $30,000 for the charge of aggravated burglary and sexual battery.

Police arrested Mouton Tuesday after they say they found DNA evidence that linked him to the home invasion and sexual assault of a 70 year-old woman in the Sherwood Forest area.

Police have said that Mouton could be responsible for as many as three other similar crimes in East Baton Rouge Parish.

District Attorney Hillar Moore has confirmed to NBC33 that he will be filing a motion today to increase that bond amount.

This is ridiculously low and a slap in the face to the women who endured such a horrible thing. Who is the judge who set this amount? Shame on that judge.

Are you allowed to publish the name of the judge who set such a low amount on such a vicious criminal?
