Harvey Man arrested for distributing child pornography

BATON ROUGE, LA — A Harvey man has been arrested today and charged with violating Louisiana statutes against pornography involving juveniles, announced the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit.
Agents arrested Dejohn Joseph Downs, 23, following a joint investigation by the Louisiana Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
Downs was charged with seven counts of Distributing Pornography Involving Juveniles by the Louisiana Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit. Additionally, he was charged with two counts of Possessing Child Pornography by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Downs was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison on each count of possessing and distributing pornography involving juveniles.
