Hammond man shot to death
Holden, La (NBC33) — The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office was called on a shooting slightly north of Holden, La on March 23.
Deputies found that Leonard Gay Jake Johnson, 50, from Hammond had been shot to death. His body was found lying near his vehicle, which was parked approximately 25 yards in front the residence in which Ernest Gerald Beraud, the shooter, lived.
Beraud told detectives that Johnson and he got into an argument. Johnson was told to leave the primacies and stay clear of the garden. Beraud said that he saw some sort of shinny object in Johnson’s possession, feared for his life, and shot Johnson with a shotgun.
Ernest Gerald Beraud, 53, has been charged with Second Degree Murder.
