Hammond man severely beats woman, resists officers
HAMMOND, La (NBC33) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office reported that Christopher Adam Wier, 29, of Hammond, was arrested and charged with second degree batter, two counts of resisting arrest by force, and public intimidation on Monday, Feb. 17.
Deputies responded to a call at a home on Dunson Park Ave. When they arrived, deputies learned that Wier had just severely beaten a woman. According to reports, a struggle had obviously taken place. Police found large amounts of blood in several places around the house.
Someone notified officers that Wier was possibly hiding out in a nearby trailer. Officers surround the trailer and located Wier inside.
Wier tried to fight off the police, but was soon detained.
Responders took the victim to a hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.
