Hammond man caught on surveillance burglarizing home multiple times

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Renae Joseph Bernard, 42, of Hammond, over the weekend for burglarizing a home several times on Saturday, July 19.

According to TPSO, surveillance video showed a white male trespassing on the victim’s property. He entered the residence and back shed multiple times.

Investigators showed the suspect’s image to neighbors and were able to identify the man as Bernard.

Detectives then went to Bernard’s residence less than a mile from the crime scene. They arrested Bernard without incident.

Bernard faces charges of attempted burglary, theft under $500, five counts of burglary, and failure to appear in court.
