Hammond man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

A man has been arrested on multiple charges after deputies pulled him over for having a stolen plate on his vehicle.

On April 2, Antonio Haley, 36, was arrested after being pulled over on Airport Road for having a stolen license plate on his black Lexus.

When Haley was ordered to exit the vehicle, he was observed throwing a small plastic baggie near the front tire of the driver’s side.

After Haley was safely detained and in custody, deputies were able to retrieve the small plastic baggie, which  contained a white substance suspected to be cocaine. Deputies also located marijuana on the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

Subsequently, Haley was transported to the parish jail and booked accordingly.

Charges: Possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, Possession of marijuana, and possession of stolen property.
