A Livingston Parish man was arrested on burglary charges during a traffic stop.

On December 12, 2012 while on patrol on the eastern side of Livingston Parish, members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Burglary Division and Uniform Patrol came into contact with a white male – later identified as Ian Martin, 28.

During a traffic stop, investigators noticed numerous articles in Martin's vehicle which appeared to be suspicious.

Investigators were able to link property within the vehicle to numerous burglaries in the area, including one burglary which occurred only a short time before deputies initiated the stop.

During the investigation, Martin was arrested and charged with 8 counts of Simple Burglary of Inhabited Dwelling and Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Bond is set at $500,000.00.

Investigators are in the process of linking property to burglary victims. This could result in more charges.

The investigation is ongoing. Future arrests may follow.
