Gunshot victims drive themselves to hospital

BATON ROUGE POLICE DEPARTMENT — Around 10 pm Saturday night Baton Rouge Police responded to the Earl K. Long Hospital relative to two gun shot victims who arrived at the emergency room in a private own vehicle.
Upon arrival officers contacted deputies on the scene and were advised by deputies that one of the victims drove the vehicle to the hospital.
Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle inside the hospital and discovered that the driver was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, and a passenger that was in the vehicle with him was suffering from a gun shot wound to the head.
Both men were admitted into the hospital one with life threaten injuries, and the other with a serious but non-life threaten injury at the time.
The Homicide Division was notified and the case was turned over to Homicide Detectives.
At this time there is no known motive for the shooting, but it appears that the incident occurred somewhere around the 4700 block of Oaklan Street.
