Guillory sentenced to life in prison for 2002 murder case

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Jeffrey Guillory was sentenced to life in prison this morning in a Baton Rouge courtroom for the 2002 killing of Renee Newman.
Guillory is already serving 50 years for attempted murder. He has also been accused in the deaths of two other women in the Baton Rouge area.
Guillory's sentencing was originally set for November, but was pushed to today because of a personal emergency involving one of the attorneys in the case.
