Governors asked to help after Bourbon Street shootout suspect refuses extradition
(NBC33) — Trung Le, a 20-year-old suspect in the Bourbon Street shootout, continued to fight extradition from Mississippi to Louisiana.
Le refused to be moved when authorities came to transport him on Friday, which lead to Monday’s hearing at the Harrison County Jail.
Le’s refusal means that authorities are now asking the governors of Mississippi and Louisiana to step in.
Judge Bruce Strong says this could mean Le’s extradition could be delayed for days or weeks.
