A Gonzales woman and 15-year-old her son were arrested following a party that involved underage teens, alcohol, and drugs.

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 13000 block of George Rouyea on Feb. 21, after an anonymous person called about a party going on at the residence that involved juveniles drinking alcohol and using drugs.

When deputies arrived, they found several teenagers standing on the front porch and more inside the house.

When police spoke to the owner of the residence, Allison Michel, 33, she told them she’d just arrived at the home a few minutes before police. She said her son was allowed to invite over a few friends.

Officers later found several of the teens in an area of the home that was filled with smoke and the odor of marijuana. Deputies located several pipes, beer cans, and a small amount of weed. Michel’s son confessed that the pipes and drugs were his.

Police arrested and charged the 15-year-old on Feb. 21, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the investigation deputies did not have sufficient probable cause to arrest the teens that were attending the party. Officers did meet with the parents and released the teens into their parent's custody.

Deputies continued their investigation in hopes of finding out who purchased the alcohol for the party because both the teens and Michel denied making the purchase.

As the investigation continued into the following week deputies were successful in locating video surveillance at a local store that showed Michel purchasing the alcohol for the teen party.

On Feb. 27, Michel was arrested and charged with 14 counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

She is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
