Former sheriff of Winn Parish convicted on federal drug trafficking charges

MONROE, LA (KTVE) — The former sheriff of Winn Parish has been convicted on federal drug trafficking charges.
According to a US Attorney involved with the case, the jury reached the decision against former Sheriff Albert D. "Bodie" Little in the evening on Friday, Feb. 24. Little was arrested last August along with 10 others on charges of distributing meth in Shreveport and Winn parish. After 4 days of testimony, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on several drug related charges.
The charges include one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine, and two counts of the use of a communication facility to facilitate drug trafficking.
Sentencing is set for June 15th. He faces a possible sentence of life in prison.
