Former high school coach accused of keeping funds from football account
ALBANY, LA (NBC33) — A former employee of the Livingston Parish School System was arrested for allegedly stealing funds that were supposed to be utilized for the football team.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the arrest was made on Friday, Feb. 8. We’re told Bradley N. Ficklin, 34, of Livingston is accused of collecting $4,000 in funds between August and December 2012, but never deposited the money.
Officials tell us Ficklin was a coach at Albany High School. The money was reportedly for the purchase of an inflatable tunnel for the team. However, the tunnel was purchased for the team with funds allocated from other resources.
Ficklin was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. He was booked on the charges of Malfeasance in Office and six counts of Felony Theft By Fraud. His bond was set at $85,000.00.
