Fire department working arson case for early morning duplex blaze

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Baton Rouge Fire Department is working an arson investigator for a fire that started in the early morning.
The fire was reported at roughly 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12 at a duplex located on Shay Street. Reports say that the fire started inside the home and spread to a neighboring duplex.
No was injured.
Fire investigators believe that the fire was intentionally set, but did not note why they believed this to be the case. An estimated $50,000 worth of damage was caused.
