Extensive undercover operation nets several drug arrests

INDEPENDENCE, LA — Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following narcotics arrests after extensive on-going undercover investigations:
On May 15, 2012, agents from the Tangipahoa Parish Narcotics Division and the Tri Parish Narcotics Task force conducted a narcotics related search warrant on Highway 1065 in Independence. During the search, agents located 3 one pot shake and bake meth labs, several hydrogen chloride generators and precursor materials used to manufacture methamphetamine.
This is the second time since February that this residence has been the subject of a narcotics related search due to manufacturing methamphetamine. Once again, arrested at the house were Samuel Tullos and Roxy Rivas Duplanter. Agents also located precursor materials on Duplanter person. Agents arrested Kevin Earl Jackson who was found to be in Possession of Methamphetamine and Marijuana.
Arrested: Samuel Tullos was arrested for three counts of Manufacturing schedule II methamphetamine. Roxy Rivas Duplanter was arrested for three counts of Manufacturing schedule II methamphetamine and operation creation possession of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory. Kevin Earl Jackson of Mississippi was arrested for Possession of marijuana schedule I, Possession of Methamphetamine Schedule II, and two FTA’s for traffic violations.
"We refuse to let these methamphetamine violators continue to make a negative impact on community. We intend to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law." states Edwards.
On May 14, 2012, TPSO narcotics Agents, with assistance from the Amite PD, executed a search at 55437 Durbin Road in Independence. Agents located large amounts of waste which was created as the result of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Agents located 3 one pot shake and bake methamphetamine laboratories throughout the property. Agents also located inside the residence several grams of methamphetamine and a large volume of Xanax.
Marty Dell Smith was arrested for three counts of Manufacturing Sch II, 1 count Possession of Schedule IV, 1 count Possession of Schedule II. Robert Michael Swindle was arrested for three counts Manufacturing Sch II.
