Ex-boyfriends beats, chokes woman until she passes out

SHREVEPORT, LA — A Shreveport man is wanted for allegedly beating, then choking his girlfriend until she was unconscious.
Shortly after 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital's emergency room to reports of a woman who had been beaten senseless. When they reached the ER, patrolmen found Alrika Edwards, 19, who told police that her ex-boyfriend, identified as Vincent Henderson,23, had attacked her while they were arguing at his home in the 500 block of Lynbrook Boulevard.
According to Edwards, Henderson beat her with his fists and then choked her until she passed out. At some point after the attack, she was able to get out of the house and seek help. Edwards suffered serious injuries to her face and neck.
An arrest warrant charging Henderson with one count of second degree battery has been issued and his bond has been set at $75,000.
