EUNICE, LA (NBC33) — A dispute over a child support payment turned violent after a woman allegedly threw a piece of concrete at man, then hit him repeatedly after he refused to give her extra money.
The Eunice Police Department says the altercation happened on the 400 block of South 12th Street. When an officer arrived he witnessed the suspect, Morgan Douglas, 27, hitting a man in the eye and stomach with her fists. They say she was also yelling at him.
The responding officer ordered Douglas to stop, but she continued and he was forced to physically restrain her.
The victim told the officer that he owed Douglas $800 in child support. He said that he gave her $500 a few days prior and dropped by her home to give her the remaining $300. The victim says Douglas then demanded that he give her an additional $50, but he refused.
At this point the victim says Douglas got violent.
The victim says Douglas picked up a concrete block from a bird bath and threw it at him. He says he raised his hands to protect his face, causing the block to hit his arms.
The violence didn’t end there, however.
The victim says Douglas continued to be combative and began hitting him with her fists as he tried to leave. It was at this point that officers arrived on scene.
Douglas was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery, Disturbing the Peace, and Resisting an Officer. She was booked into the Eunice City Jail. Her bond was set at $10,000.
