A bullet nearly struck an elderly woman in the head while she was watching television. That’s because her neighbor was involved in a fight with another man over drugs and money and he shot a gun at him.

The shooting happened in Lake Charles on Wednesday, May 9. The suspect, Adam Caesar, had started arguing with another man the night before. The next day, the man went over to Caesar’s house. The two continued the dispute and that’s when Caesar allegedly pulled out a gun.

The Lake Charles Police Department says Caesar fired off a few shots, one of which pierced the home of his elderly neighbor. We’re told the woman was watching television when the bullet whizzed by her head, just barely missing her.

The man Caesar was firing shots at fled the scene.

Caesar was arrested and charged with Attempted First-Degree murder, Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Instrumentalities, and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Caesar’s bond is set at $55,000.
