HAMMOND, LA (NBC33) — A 71-year-old woman was found shot to death outside the nursery she owned and police have not yet established a motive for the crime.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at roughly 5:00 p.m. We’re told the victim, Mary Alvarez, was found shot to death at Alverez Nursery located on Hwy. 51.

Officials say an autopsy is being performed. For now, however, they do not have a motive or suspect at this time.
