Eight people are behind bars in Livingston Parish for alleged drug activity. Sheriff Jason Ard says the arrests are part of a calculated effort to remove illegal narcotics from the streets. He credits the arrests to the department’s Narcotics Division.

‘We are committed to keeping Livingston Parish a safe place for families,” he said. “What these team members do every day impacts their families – they live here, my family and it impacts all families in Livingston Parish. Their job is to know what drugs are out there, who has them and to stop the flow. It’s a 24/7 job. I believe in this team. They are the best at what they do."
