EBRSO looking for man using fake American Express card
Baton Rouge —
East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives are looking for a man that was seen using counterfeit credit cards to make purchases at the Toys-R-Us located on North Mall Drive on January 8, 2014 at approximately 1:00 p.m.
According to reports, the man used an American Express credit card to make two fraudulent purchases of three car seats for $970.17 at 1:01 p.m. and to buy an iPad Air and an Xbox One game system for $1,198.98 at 1:16 p.m.
Detectives believe the card is fraudulent, as the victim is still in possession of the actual card.
Through the course of this investigation it was learned that the same unknown male attempted to make a purchase with a second counterfeit credit card at the GameStop, 3145 College Drive Baton Rouge, but was unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as a slim, Asian male, wearing a white New York Yankees baseball hat. He appears to be approximately 20-30 years old.
