EBRSO arrest man with makings of meth lab

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on Tuesday, Feb. 18, that Polo Mouton, 31, was arrested on several drug charges.

EBR detectives received a tip that a man might be cooking meth in the 16400 block of Frenchtown Road.

Deputies arrived at the location and found a man inside of a parked vehicle. The man was later identified as Mouton.

Mouton already had outstanding bench warrants for Possession of Schedule I Narcotics and Creation or Operation of a Clandestine Lab.

Officers also located a backpack inside of the car, which contained items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Mouton admitted that he used the items to cook meth and that he was about to destroy them.

Mouton was eventually charged with Creation and Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Creation or Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory Within One Thousand Feet of a BREC Park.
