THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — A 21-year-old man was arrested for his alleged involvement in a drive-by shooting. Detectives believe it was retaliation for a shooting that had occurred a day prior.
The Thibodaux Police Department reports that the drive-by shooting occurred on Sunday, Oct. 14 in the 200 block of Sanders Street. The gunman shot at two males, but missed hitting both. Instead, the bullets struck surrounding homes and vehicles.
The night prior, about a block away from where the drive-by shooting occurred, a man was shot in the leg. The following day Javonte Johnson was located and arrested for the crime.
Investigators eventually connected Michael Coleman, 21, to the victim and the drive-by.
Coleman was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail. He was booked for one count of Assault by Drive-by Shooting. His bond was set at $100,000.
