Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — People continue to line the steps of the Baton Rouge courthouse, all hoping to take care of outstanding warrants and arrests.
This was the first day the jail was opened around the clock, and with it, as promise to arrest as many of those with outstanding warrants as possible.
Major Reginald Brown says he doesn't have a solid number of arrests yet, but it's clear the promise of being arrested is pushing many to clear up any outstanding warrants they have.
"The lines outside indicate that we do have a significant amount of individuals who want to come in and take care of their business," stated Brown.
The 24-hour jail will continue for the next two weeks. Anyone with outstanding warrants or tickets is encouraged to visit the courthouse to take care of it.
