Double homicide suspect on the run from Florida captured in Opelousas

OPELOUSAS, LA — A Florida man accused of killing his wife, daughter's boyfriend, and shooting his 8 months pregnant daughter, was caught in Opelousas last night.
Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, May 2, The Opelousas Police Department along with the FBI, U.S Marshall's, Louisiana State Police, St. Landry Sheriff Dept., Lafayette Sheriff Dept. members from Lafayette Police Department and Lafayette City Marshall took into custody without incident Kevin Kent Satterfield, 55, at a local motel in Opelousas.
Satterfield was tracked to the Opelousas area by the US Marshall after he shot and killed his wife and his daughters boyfriend.
Satterfield also shot his daughter who was 8 months pregnant. According to reports his daughter and the baby did survive.
Satterfield is facing charges in Florida of two counts of First Degree Murder and Attempted Felony murder. Satterfield is being held in custody at the St. Landry Parish Jail.
