THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — Additional charges have been filed against a man accused of killing two people.
The Thibodaux Police Department added a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm against Alfred Starks, 19. The charges stem from a shooting incident that happened the night before his alleged execution of a double homicide.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, a witness claims that Starks fired a gun multiple times near the intersection of St. Charles and East 12th Street in Thibodaux.
“Starks and the victim were arguing when Starks began firing shots,” David Melancon, Thibodaux Police Department, said. “The victim was not injured, but stray bullets struck a home in the 600 block of East 12th Street while the home owners were inside.”
Starks managed to avoid capture. The next night, however, he was arrested shortly after two homicide victims - Tre Scott, 19, and Jordy Williams, 26, both of Thibodaux - were discovered in a vehicle located on Iris Street.
“They processed the scene and they were led to Starks, who is known to frequent the area,” Melancon noted. “Police have found no evidence suggesting that these two crimes are linked, but the investigation is ongoing.”
Starks is currently being held in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. His bond is now $5.1 million.
