Detectives utilize bait car in arrest

BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) –Detectives have successfully used a “bait car”, and a local man has been arrested because of it on March 12.
East Baton Rouge Auto Theft detectives received a notice that a bait car had been broken into around 11 a.m.
While the car itself had not been stolen, its contents were. This included a laptop, smart phone, GPS, and an additional cell phone.
Eric Chatman, 32, was driving a vehicle near the bait car and was stopped by officers. They determined that he was responsible for the theft.
Chatman has been charged with Simple Burglary of a Vehicle, Felony Theft and three Misdemeanor Bench Warrants.
