LORANGER, La (NBC33) — Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff detectives have positively identified the human remains found in Loranger early last week as those of missing person Dena Fout, 46.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 21, several boys were frog hunting in a wooded area when they discovered a portion of Fout’s skeletal remains.
Fout was last seen outside of her home in Loranger on August 4, 2009, around 2:00 p.m.
Detectives had investigated Fout’s disappearance for countless hours and had received several tips throughout the years suggesting that she was still alive. However, they were never able to determine her whereabouts until about 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
Now detectives are trying to establish a cause and time of death.
Sheriff Edwards is asking anyone with information regarding Dena’s death to please come forward. Crime Stoppers is a safe and anonymous way for the public to share case information to authorities at any time.
