Detectives identify 2 persons of interest regarding attempted robbery, shooting

Detectives have identified two persons of interest who may have information regarding a shooting under investigation by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred outside of a lounge on Hwy. 182 in Amelia near the Greenwood overpass at around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14. Three black males approached the victim, a Hispanic male, and attempted to rob him. During the attempt, the victim was shot.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. He was later transported to another medical facility where he remains in fair condition.

Investigators have identified two persons of interest whom they believe may have information regarding this crime.

One is described as a black male with a medium build, 5'10" to 6 feet in height, aged 23 to 25 years old with a dark complexion, and black hair styled with short twists. He goes by the nickname of “Diddy.”

The second is a black male with a medium build, 5'7" to 5'8" in height, aged 19 to 20 years old who goes by the nickname of “Jay.”
