WALKER, LA (NBC33) — A man has been taken into custody for allegedly cutting his unborn fetus from his wife.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms that the incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23. We’re told the woman, who was more than seven months pregnant, was stabbed by her husband, Jeffery Reynolds, at around the 30000 block of Milton Road in Walker.

The fetus died at the home, but the 28-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital. We’re told she’s expected to survive.

Officials say Reynolds has been charged with First-Degree Feticide and Second-Degree Attempted Murder. He was booked into jail, with bond set at $500,000.
