Deputies chase man through woods after he fled during traffic stop

TICKFAW, LA (NBC33) — A man is locked up for multiple charges after he attempted to run from deputies during a traffic stop.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened on Sunday, Dec. 30. We’re told the suspect, Tommy Ray Arnold II, 32, of Hammond, took off running after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Hwy. 51 in Tickfaw. Arnold allegedly fled into a near by wooded area.
Officials say Arnold was apprehended after a brief chase through the woods. Once captured they found him in possession of a marijuana pipe, a pack of syringes, a spoon and a melted pill wrapped in a clear plastic baggie.
Arnold was arrested and charged with one count Resisting an Officer, one count Possession of Schedule 4 Narcotics, and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Arnold also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest.
Arnold was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a bond of $10,500.
