BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) – Police arrested a man that led them on two high speed chases through the streets of Baton Rouge on March 13.

An East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office deputy clocked a vehicle speeding in the Glen Oaks area. The driver then led the officer on a high speed chase, reaching speeds of over 100 mph. The deputy called the pursuit off, citing it to be too dangerous in the residential neighborhood.

A while later, another officer saw the car near the I-12 ramp off Sherwood Forest Boulevard. Yet again, the suspect fled upon seeing the police.

He was stopped near the I-10/I-12 split but refused to exit his vehicle. Officers broke out the window and let a K-9 loose. The suspect began to choke the dog, and was immediately tased by officers on the scene.

Jacob M. Myers, 22, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Obstruction of Public Hwy, Aggravated Battery on an Officer, Resisting an Officer, Speeding, Public Intimidation, and Open Container in Vehicle.
