With a list of 74 warrants for 39 suspected drug dealers, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Deputies hit the streets Thursday morning. By the afternoon, half of the suspects were already behind bars; their loot also on lockdown.

It’s a joint effort between LPSO, Walker PD and Denham Springs PD that has been in the works for months. Undercover narcotics agents caught each of the suspects distributing drugs on camera, or directly to undercover deputies.

LPSO Chief Criminal Deputy Jason Ard says building tight cases keeps dealers off the streets longer. “Some of these date back to before the first of the year,” says Ard. “It just takes us time to make sure that we have a good case and that way when the prosecution gets the case they look at it and say, hey, this was a good case; they worked. We can get a prosecution out of this.”

Ard says Deputies will continue clearing warrants until they have all 39 suspects in custody.
