Deadly Jonesville fire ruled arson
Jonesville, LA (NBC33) — Two men were arrested for starting a fire that claimed the life of 36-year-old Kevin Wiley on Friday.
Firefighters responded to the fire on Pecan Street around 4:00 a.m. on Feb. 7. Upon arrival, they saw heavy smoke coming from the mobile home.
After firefighters brought the fire under control, they found Wiley’s body on his bedroom floor.
Investigators determined that the fire originated in the living room and that the home was without power at the time of the fire. There no working smoke alarms in the residence.
After further investigation, authorities determined that the fire was intentionally set.
Conner Thomas and Trey Seward, both 17, were arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Arson.
They are being held without bond in the Catahoula Parish Jail.
