Covington man shoots his son at house party during argument

A Covington man was arrested for allegedly shooting his son during a house party.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12. We’re told the suspect, Jody Camardelle, 43, was allegedly involved in a heated argument with his son during a party at his home. Officials say his son and girlfriend went to the front yard of the home to try and calm down the situation. However, Carmadelle allegedly walked out of his garage and began shooting at his 19-year-old son, striking him once in the abdomen.

Camardelle’s son was transported to a hospital in New Orleans for treatment.

Carmadelle was arrested for Second-Degree Battery. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on Sunday, Jan. 13.
