MANDEVILLE, LA (NBC33) — A woman allegedly used an online dating site to arrange a meeting and had an accomplice rob the man at knifepoint.
The Mandeville Police Department reports that the incident happened on Sunday, Jan. 13 shortly after 1:00 a.m. at the Mariner’s Village Marina. We’re told the 53-year-old victim had arranged a meeting with the suspect, Kasi Lynn Ferguson, 23, through an online dating site.
Officials say the two were sitting in the victim’s car when a man later identified as Blaise Thomas Pertuit, 22, approached the vehicle. Pertuit allegedly pulled the victim from the vehicle at knife point and robbed him of his personal effects. He is said to have beaten the victim as well.
The victim was able to identify Ferguson from the online site “Seeking Arrangement.” The site is billed as a “sugar daddy dating site.”
Investigators were able to identify Pertuit and conducted a search of his home. They did not say what the relationship is between Ferguson and Pertuit. They say they found some of the victim’s personal items (a watch and camera) in the home.
Ferguson and Pertuit were arrested on Thursday, Jan. 15 in Plaquemines Parish with the assistance of the Louisiana State Police. They were extradited and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. Both were charged with one count of Armed Robbery.
