Copper thieves hit food bank
BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — Yesterday between 10:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., copper thieves cut and removed the copper power lines inside the Food Bank's soon to be renovated facility at the old Fraenkel furniture facility on South Choctaw.
Contractor's initial estimate for replacement and repairs are in the hundreds of thousand of dollars. The thieves cut copper wire, pulled down conduit and removed copper wire, and pulled breaker boxes off the walls.
