Convicted sex offender back in custody after escaping court on Monday
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WDSU0 — Orleans Parish deputies said a man who fled the courtroom on Monday night after being convicted of sexual battery was back in custody Thursday morning.
Teddy Magee escaped the courtroom after the guilty verdict was read by jurors. Authorities said he walked out the front door after the victim in the case had an emotional outburst.
Police said Magee forced his way into the victim’s bathroom in October 2010, and punched, kicked, choked and sexually assaulted the victim.
