A 34-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly punching a blind woman.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Danea Patterson was arrested on Christmas Day for the alleged attack. We’re told Patterson was the caretaker for the blind woman.

Officials say the incident happened on Monday, Dec. 24. The victim allegedly told her sister about how she had been treated. She claims Patterson had not bathed her properly in three weeks and was not being fed well, either.

After telling her sister the complaints, the victim allegedly returned to home to retrieve her medications. She intended on staying with her sister to avoid further contact with Patterson. However, when the victim got to her home, she claims that Patterson stopped her in the doorway and punched her in the face and back.

Investigators arrested Patterson and charged her with Cruelty to the Infirmed. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
