Career criminal arrested for armed robbery over weekend in Crowley

CROWLEY, LA — The suspect for a weekend armed robbery in Crowley is no stranger to the law. The career criminal has a history with law enforcement that goes all the way back to 1994.
The incident happened on Friday, June 15 at roughly 10:30 p.m. According to police, the victim in this case was conducting business at an ATM machine located in the 200 block of North Parkerson Ave in Crowley when the suspect approached the victim demanding money.
The suspect produced a handgun according to the victim.
Police responded to the immediate area and located the suspect described by the victim. After a resistance, police were able to take him into custody.
“The weapon which is believed to have been used was recovered by officers from the suspect’s possession” stated Chief K.P. Gibson. “These officers did a good job to get a violent person off the streets of Crowley”.
Arrested for Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest was Perry Davis, 35 of Crowley. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
Davis has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1994. Davis has been charged with narcotics violations, burglary, as well as other types of violent crimes according to police records.
