Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports the arrest of Calvin “Dirt” Williams of Baton Rouge for the murder of Gerald “Butta” Wilkins that occurred on Saturday, January 12 on LV Road in Sorrento.

“Wilkins [from Baton Rouge] was found shot to death on the side of the road in what appeared to be an execution style slaying” Sheriff Jeff Wiley said.

Williams is a convicted felon who had been arrested 21 times since 1993 including an arrest in 2006 for attempted second-degree murder and in 2007 for first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. His arrest record indicates he had also been arrested several times for robbery, armed robbery, and drug charges.

On January 27, 2013 Calvin K. “Dirt” Williams, 37, surrendered to U. S. Marshall in Baton Rouge, La. Ascension Parish detectives later transported Williams to the Ascension Parish jail where he was booked on one count of second-degree murder.
