Capital One robber captured

THIS IS AN NBC33 NEWS UPDATE: The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Brendan N. Coughenour, 21, of Baton Rouge in the late evening on Tuesday, July 12 for the armed robbery of the Capital One on Highland Road. Police say evidence collected at the scene led to Coughenour’s arrest. He has been charged with Armed Robbery and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

ORIGINAL STORY: Details just coming in regarding an armed robbery that happened at the Capital One bank on Highland Road just after 2 p.m. We’re told the man is white and may have an automatic weapon. Police are currently tracking him down.

     

NBC33 News has a reporter on scene working to get those details for you now. We have put in a call to LSU and they are not putting students on alert. This is because witnesses told Police they saw the suspect going in the opposite direction.

Police have described the suspect as a white male, 6'3" tall. They say he was wearing black pants, black hooded sweat shirt with what appeared to be the word "Nike" on the front. The suspect was wearing dark colored loafer type shoes with white socks. He was carrying a black book bag.
