Caddo Parish store clerk allegedly steals $60,000
CADDO PARISH, LA (KMSS) — Law enforcement officials arrested a convenience store clerk after it was discovered she had stolen more $60,000 from the business.
According to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator, a manager became suspicious when an internal audit revealed large shortages from the store. An internal investigation revealed Brown had allegedly been ringing up customer, accepting their money, canceled the sale and placed the cash into her pocket. In addition, she regularly allowed friends and acquaintances to leave without paying for items.
Sheriff’s Detective Doug Smith said Brown committed the thefts on a daily basis since February.
Brown, 44, of Shreveport, was arrested Thursday at a hotel on Monkhouse Drive. She was booked into Caddo Correctional Center for theft.
