SHREVEPORT (KMSS) — Three family members are behind bars after deputies said they used their home as a hangout for sex, drugs and alcohol for underage teens.
Melissa Greenwalt, 42, Robert “Bob” Greenwalt, 50, and Cole Greenwalt, 17, were taken into custody at their home in the 8200 block of Dance Drive in Keithville after deputies received complaints of illegal activity at the house.
According to Sheriff Steve Prator, over the past year, Melissa Greenwalt picked up teenagers in her van and took them to her house, where they were allowed smoke marijuana, drink alcohol and engage in sexual behavior. She also took part in some sex acts with juveniles, deputies said.
Robert and Cole also brought juveniles to the house, however, Robert is only accused of witnessing the acts and not intervening. Cole is also accused of participating in sex acts with juveniles.
Detectives said the children involved ranged in age from 12- to 16-years-old. At least 10 victims have come forward, but as many as 40 or more from Caddo, Bossier, and DeSoto parishes have visited the home in the past year. Many of the children were at the Greenwalt home without their parents’ permission after sneaking out at night and being picked up by Melissa, or “Mama” as she asked to be called.
In other cases, Melissa lied parents and told them she was a homeschool teacher. She would then ask for their children to be allowed into her home to hang out with Cole and her 12-year-old daughter.
All three of the Greenwalts were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Melissa is charged with indecent behavior with juveniles, misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, felony contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, and possession of marijuana second offense. Her bond was set at $300,000.
Robert is charged with contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and possession of marijuana. His bond is $25,850.
Cole is charged with indecent behavior with juveniles and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. His bond is $75,000.
