Business located near park, church, busted for selling synthetic drugs, possession of firearms

ST. MARY PARISH, LA (NBC33) — A business in Siracuse, La was found with thousands of dollars worth of illegal synthetic drugs. The store was located a short distance from a recreational park with children as well as a church.
Agents with the Narcotics Task Force in St. Mary Parish executed a search warrant at the T&N Food Mart on Hwy 182 in Siracuse on Wednesday, March 7 shortly before 1:00 p.m. The warrant was issued due to an ongoing investigation into the business.
Inside the store agents recovered synthetic cannabinoids with a street value of $24,000, drug paraphernalia, bath salts (Methylone) and two firearms. Agents also seized $145,024.
Doan Thanh Nguyen, 25, of Siracuse was arrested for Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methylone (Bath Salts) with Intent to Distribute, Violation of CDS Law Drug Free Zone (Recreational Park and Church), Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS, Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Information provided by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office did not indicate Thanh’s relationship to the business.
