Just before the peak of the storm in Baton Rouge an attempted burglary was thwarted by deputies.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies spotted a man who was allegedly trying to kick in the door at a home located on the 3000 block of King Bradford. They were investigating a tip that was provided by a neighbor. The incident happened at around 1:00 p.m.

The suspect, Tedrick Compton, 35, will be charged with Criminal Damage to Property and Attempted Unauthorized Entry.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says that despite the conditions of the weather, they are still responding to all emergency calls. Deputies have also recently responded to check on the home of an elderly man after a tree reportedly fell on his home, which is located in the 5000 block of Goodland.
