BRPD searching for gunman who shot at vehicle, injured 7-year-old boy

A 7-year-old child was shot in the leg after an unidentified gunman shot at the car in which he was a passenger.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the shooting happened on Sunday, Oct. 6 shortly before 3:00 p.m. We’re told the gunman walked up to the vehicle, which was located in the 12200 block of Lamargie Street.

The car was occupied by two adults and the young boy. The gunman fired at the vehicle multiple times, but both the driver and passenger were unharmed.

The young boy, however, was transported to the hospital with a minor injury to his leg.

The suspect is described as a tall, black male with a low hair cut. Witnesses believe he frequents the Sherwood Forest area.
